As we begin the first week, we ask for everyone’s patience and help as we get into our routines. Here are a few important reminders: 🚗 CAR RIDERS Please be patient in the car lines! Things may take a little longer during the first few days as students, families, and staff get familiar with the routines. We promise we are working hard to make drop off & dismissal as smooth and safe as possible. If your child needs extra assistance getting out of the vehicle, please park. Don't forget your pickup placard for afternoon pickup. If you do not have it then you must park and come inside with your id. Thank you for your patience! 💚 🏠 HOW IS YOUR CHILD GOING HOME? If you were unable to attend Open House, please make sure your child’s teacher knows how your child will be going home each day. This is especially important so we can make sure every child gets home safely. 🍎 LUNCH MONEY Please make sure your child has money in their lunch account. You can add funds and set up low-balance reminders through MySchoolBucks: 🌐 www.myschoolbucks.com 🥪 FREE & REDUCED LUNCH If you need to apply for free or reduced-price meals, applications can be completed here: 🌐 https://www.myschoolapps.com/ 🚌 BUS RIDERS Please be at your child’s bus stop at least 10 minutes before the scheduled pickup time. During the first couple of weeks, bus schedules may take a little time to settle into a routine. Afternoon drop-off times may also be a little later than expected as drivers and students get accustomed to their routes. You can track your child's bus with the My Ride K-12 app. 💚 KINDERGARTEN BUS RIDERS: An approved adult must be present at the bus stop to receive your kindergarten student. We're thrilled to share that Feeding the Gulf Coast will be bringing their mobile food pantry to Immanuel Baptist Church on Saturday, August 22nd at 8:00 am! This wonderful organization is dedicated to nourishing families in our community who need support, and we're grateful for their partnership with us throughout the school year. Together, we're able to send home nutritious food bags to families in our school community, making a real difference in their lives. Attached you will find two flyers with key details about breakfast and lunch for the coming school year.

The first flyer has QR Codes for some very important apps/websites:
-- MySchoolApps — Apply for Free & Reduced Lunch (required each year)
-- Nutrislice — View breakfast and lunch menus by school
-- MySchoolBucks — Add money to your student’s account, view purchases, and use the school store

The second flyer shows the monthly cost of breakfast and lunch (regular and reduced price). This will come in handy when planning your monthly budget.

Looking for something to keep your children engaged in reading all summer long? Participate in Berryhill's Find Your Reading Joy Summer Reading Challenge! The challenge begins June 1st and continues through July 31st. Your child will earn exciting badges as they log reading minutes, and if he/she earns all the badges to complete the challenge, he/she will earn a prize and a shoutout when we return to school in the fall!

The top performing school will earn a $3,000 prize to buy more books and a free virtual author visit. Let's all read, read, read, and log our minutes on Beanstack this summer to make Berryhill the top performing school!

To log minutes:
1. Go through your child's rapid identity account, click on Beanstack, and then click on log reading OR
2. Download the Beanstack Tracker app on your device. You will use your child's 57# and date of birth to log-in.

Berryhill Parents and Guardians,

Our school has been selected as a site for the Summer Feeding Program. We will provide grab-and-go breakfast and lunch for any child 18 years of age or younger from June 1 through July 31.

Please note:
-You must show a photo ID at the front door to access the school. Have your ID ready.
-Breakfast: 7:30 AM–8:30 AM, Monday–Friday.
-Lunch: 11:30 AM–12:30 PM, Monday–Friday.
-Meals are grab-and-go and children must be present to receive them.

Congratulations — we did it! As promised, Mrs. Chapman and Ms. McCombs kissed a donkey today to celebrate reaching our spring fundraiser goal.

A big thank-you to AWA Farms for bringing this sweet micro-mini baby girl, Keyla, to the school for our challenge. Be sure to check them out on Facebook. They are a nonprofit whose mission is to provide opportunities for children in foster care, with special needs, and from low-income families to receive comfort from animals and take part in hands-on experiences. AWA Farms is located on Hwy 89 in Milton. PS: Keyla is also looking for a forever home. <3
